What changed on 14 October?
The official October patch is Build 443, published on 14 October 2026 and checked here on 15 October. This is a source-based summary, not a playtest. The developer emphasises tutorial, controls and user experience alongside a small content expansion.
How has placing trim changed?
- Fast Trim Placement reduces the amount of clicking required. You can drag to rotate the mannequin while placing trim.
- Selecting an end node selects a trim; clicking it again extends it. Selection persists after placement.
- A duplicate-trim button starts another piece with the current height, size and tilt.
- Selecting an accessory hides the other accessories’ pins. The accessory gizmo now includes position adjustment for fine movements.
The developers are still working on the difficult interaction around sleeve cuffs. These changes are improvements, not a claim that every clipping problem is fixed. See the trim and lace guide for the distinction between a fabric requirement and an accessory requirement.
Which camera and accessibility controls should I check?
The notes describe smoother mannequin zoom, Control + mouse wheel for zoom, right-button drag for panning and keyboard orbit controls. Camera work is still in progress. Use the hints in your installed build when old videos show different controls.
New options include Less Animation, disabling moving textures and the zoom effects in sewing/cutting scenes; an option to disable the red outline; and a bloom option. Fast Trim Placement is also described as an accessibility improvement. Full control rebinding and gamepad support remain high priorities, not confirmed additions in this release.
What changed at the cutting table and sketchbook?
Discarding fabric now requires using the discard-fabric button first. A new button collects all panel pieces. The cutting room has clearer layout/tooltips, drag panning and mouse-wheel panning with scissors selected. A fix prevents leaving during the scissor animation.
The sketchbook gains component randomisation and deletion of off-rack dresses. Returning from the sketchbook opened through the sidebar returns to the previous scene. Read the cutting guide and sketchbook guide for the broader workflow.
Why can an old dress look or score slightly differently?
Colour and fabric-type requirements now give small components, such as collars or sleeves, more influence than their raw area alone. The developer says this can change existing dresses’ displayed scores; it does not publish a complete quality formula. Trim tilt and placement fixes can also slightly alter old trim. Keep screenshots and your build number when reporting a noticeably broken creation. See quality checks.
Which new materials and pieces are named?
| Type | Officially named additions |
|---|---|
| Dress pieces | Less-poofy chrysanthemum skirt; longer pencil-skirt variant |
| Cotton | Autumnal Vine Border Print Cotton; Spring Vine Border Print Cotton; Taupe Cotton |
| Lace fabric | Silver Lace; Pastel Pink Lace |
| Silk | Burning Forest; Golden Dawn; Lavender Field; Snowflake Gradient Silks |
| Accessories | Silver Clasp; Silver Narcissus Chain; Silver Twin Souls Chain |
| Trim | Black Dagger Beaded Trim; Widow’s Lace Trim |
The new content unlocks through the campaign as usual. Players who passed its unlock point receive it retroactively, according to the announcement. These are named additions, not a complete catalogue or price list. See the fabric guide.

Steam announcements rechecked on 31 October
On 31 October 2026 we checked the official Steam developer announcements: the most recent publicly announced patch notes remain Build 443, published on 14 October. A newer third-party Steam news story is not a developer patch announcement. This check does not establish the installed binary build, cover private channels or change the announcement date.
