Which cotton additions are officially named?
The October announcement lists three cotton additions. It says new content unlocks through normal campaign progress and is granted retroactively when that point has already been passed. It does not publish an exact chapter threshold or item-price table.
| Named cotton | Useful comparison before cutting |
|---|---|
| Autumnal Vine Border Print Cotton | Border location and direction on the planned piece |
| Spring Vine Border Print Cotton | How much of the motif remains on a narrow piece |
| Taupe Cotton | A quieter area beside a more detailed fabric |
These comparisons are editorial design tasks. A seasonal name does not establish a hidden style score, and Taupe does not supply a verified numerical colour value on this page.
How should a border print change the plan?
Inspect a large skirt panel and a small bodice or collar panel separately. The large panel may reveal a long border while the small panel shows only part of it. Compare their previews before assuming that the inventory swatch predicts the final arrangement.
| Part of the design | Check in the actual preview |
|---|---|
| Skirt or hem area | Where the border begins and ends |
| Centre-front bodice | Whether a focal motif is split between pieces |
| Collar or sleeves | Whether the small area reads as the intended print |
| Adjacent pieces | Direction, visible junctions and quieter alternatives |
Keep the grain requirement visible while comparing layouts. A visually attractive turn is not evidence that the required grain alignment is satisfied. The print-planning guide explains this distinction without promising a universal fabric-control setting.
When does plain cotton help?
For a design exercise, reserve one area for the border print and compare plain fabric on a neighbouring component. That makes the change easier to judge than replacing every component at once. Keep the same silhouette and view while comparing materials so the effect of the fabric is clearer.
If the order needs a particular style or colour, confirm the selected item’s labels and the requirement display after the change. Build 443 gives smaller components more influence on colour and fabric-type requirements; area alone is not a complete scoring rule.
What should be checked before buying?
Read the current unit price, inventory and planned amount, then preserve funds for required accessories. The budget worksheet separates stock from project use. For the rest of the announced materials, use the October catalogue; for missing pieces after cutting, use the panel checklist.
